Blended Education College of Southern Africa (BECSA) is a dynamic and forward-thinking tertiary education institution located in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Committed to providing high-quality and relevant education, BECSA leverages a blended learning approach that combines the best of traditional face-to-face instruction with the flexibility and accessibility of e-learning. Teacher Education

Learning partly online and face to face (blended) and in association with the University of Zimbabwe, we offer ECD and Primary Teaching Diplomas this three-year diploma program prepares aspiring teachers to excel in primary school classrooms. Through a blend of theoretical coursework, practical teaching placements, and on-campus learning, students develop a strong foundation in curriculum development, instructional strategies, classroom management, and assessment. Students are given EC numbers and are paid on teaching practice (2nd year).

Unlock your potential with our industry-leading artisan courses, proudly offered in association with Westgate Industrial Training College and accredited by HEXCO National Certificates. We’re dedicated to equipping you with the practical skills demanded by Zimbabwe’s evolving economy. Whether you’re looking for a nationally recognized qualification or targeted skills for immediate employment or personal growth through our short courses, we have a pathway for you. With three convenient intakes annually (January-February, May-June, September-October) and no O Level requirement for Class 4 entry, your journey starts here. Experience a blended learning approach with 3 months of intensive college study followed by 12 months of invaluable hands-on industry experience.

Fully Funded Courses

  • Designing and Deploying Computer Networks: This course covers the principles and practical aspects of planning, setting up, and implementing computer network infrastructure.
  • Internet Security (CYBER): This focuses on protecting computer systems and networks from cyber threats, including topics like malware, hacking, and data breaches.
  • Network Operations 1: This introductory course deals with the fundamental tasks and procedures involved in managing and maintaining computer networks on a daily basis.
  • Internet Governance: This course explores the rules, policies, and processes that shape how the internet is managed and used globally.

What kind of courses does BECSA offer?

BECSA offers a range of courses, including a 3-year Teacher Education Diploma in ECD and Primary Education, offered in association with the University of Zimbabwe. They also provide Open Entry Skills Courses in partnership with Westgate Industrial College, covering areas like Plumbing, Electrical Engineering, and Cookery. Additionally, BECSA offers emerging tech programs in Renewable Energy, Cybersecurity, Coding, and Digital Marketing, with tailor-made courses to suit industry needs. Entrepreneurship training is also a compulsory module in all long courses, equipping students with entrepreneurial skills.

Blended learning means that your learning will involve a combination of online learning and face-to-face sessions. For some courses, like the fully funded ones, this is specified as 25% at college and 75% online

  • How many intakes are there per year for the Primary General and ECD programs? There are 2 intakes per year for Primary General and ECD: February and September.
  • What are the entry requirements for Primary General and ECD? The entry requirement is 5 O Level subjects, including English and Maths.
  • How many intakes are there per year for Artisan Courses? There are 3 intakes per year for Artisan Courses: January-February, May-June, and September-October.
  • Are there any O Level requirements for Class 4 Artisan Courses? No, there are no O Level requirements for Class 4 Artisan Courses.
  • What is the intake period for the National HEXCO certificate (NC)? The intake for the National HEXCO certificate (NC) is in January-February only.
